Hello my beautiful lights! Here I bring you a natural way to dye the hair to cover the grays with henna and get a beautiful coppery brown color in two steps with the method of the double pass.
To do this, we will paint the hair with a paste of henna and then with a mixture of 75% henna and 25% indigo. The more henna in the mixture you will get a lighter, the more indigo, darker.
This method is highly recommended, in case, to have many gray hairs, since sometimes they are not covered well using only henna or you do not get the desired color. In case, if you don’t have gray hair you can paint yourself with one step, see it here.
My beautiful, I wish with all my heart that this post will help you and read on to know how this process is done
- Henna is the one that gives additional benefits to our hair such as giving it strength and being an excellent anti-cancer. In addition, it has pigmenting properties. It leaves hair healthier, protected, reduces the breakages of the hair strands and gives a lot of shine.
- The indigo gives the black or dark brown tone to the hair.
- 1PASO: Henna paste (100 gr for shoulder-to-shoulder hair)
- 2 STEP: Mix of 75%henna and 25%Indigo (75 gr henna and 25gr Indigo, amount according to the hair to be covered, 100 gr for hair up to the shoulders)
- Hot water (not boiling)
- Plastic hat or plastic kitchen film
- (optional) Sage infusion, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice…
Tip 1 : Hot water is to accelerate the oxidation of henna and that all its pigmenting properties come out.
Tip 2: Hair should be clean. So henna grips her well. If it is dirty or has oils it can make it difficult to obtain a uniform color throughout the hair.
1st STEP: Paint hair with henna
How to prepare henna?
Prepare the henna mixture. Add 100 gr in a bowl and mix with hot water (not boiling). You can add 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to give more shine, sage infusion to give more hydration or lemon juice to release more pigmentating properties. Mix slowly until you get the consistency neither very thick nor very liquid. A consistency similar to that of Greek yogurt. Let the mixture stand for 2 hours before use. Covered with a kitchen plastic. Incoating, mixing only with water can be used immediately.
Apply to the hair in the same way as a normal dye. Make sure you apply it abundantly so that it dyes everything well. Let rest in the hair for 1-2 hours. Rinse with warm water
